3 coats over black + top coat in artificial light |
This is my third review of a polish from Stay Quirky's Black Magic Range. I've reviewed 1109 Tantra here and 1111 Tarot here. You can also check my first impressions post about this range here.
Book of Shadows is probably the most shifty and multichrome of all the polishes I've reviewed so far in this range. I just cannot get enough of this gorgeous shade. My photos don't do justice, you have to see this in person to truly appreciate its beauty.

Shade
This polish shifts from a metallic dark denim blue to purple to sea green. You will see the most amazing and vivid blue to purple shift in direct sunlight and will see a more multichrome shift in indoor lighting. I can also see some gold in the bottle, but not on the nail.
It really depends on the light in which you look at this polish. If affects the tone & vibrancy of the colours as well as their intensity. It was kind of impossible for me to catch all the different looks of this polish.

Formula
The formula is pretty much the same as all other polishes in this range. Sheer and needs to be layered over a darker colour.
Application
So I've applied three coats over black for my pictures. But you can get away with two medium coats as well. This polish has a tendency to drag the base colour it's applied over. So I'd recommended taking a good sized blob of this polish and floating it over your nail. I was working with thin coats and it kinda took away my black polish in a couple of spots on my nail, which is why I had to do an extra coat. Not that it made too much of a difference, as this polish is so sheer.

Longevity
Hands down, the most long wearing of the three I've reviewed. I wore this for 5 days, without visible tip wear. So do wrap the tips of your nails and use a good top coat and this polish should hold up well.

Final Thoughts
If you had to pick one shade from this range, I would say it is this! It is the most multichrome and lasts long on the nail. Definitely one of my favourites from this collection and a shade I would repurchase.
