Stay Quirky Satin Effect Nail Polish - Smooth Chic 932 Swatch & Review

Stay Quirky Satin Effect Nail Polish - Smooth Chic 932
2 coats over black + top coat in sunlight

Stay Quirky's Smooth Chic is a duo chrome nail polish with an insane amount of micro shimmer. The bottle holds 8ml of product. Honestly, from all the polishes I have from this brand, this was the most disappointing so far.

Shade
This polish is a purple/green shifting duo-chrome. How strong or vibrant the shift is, depends on the lighting. I could say it's a the ugly step sister to Essence's Chic Reloaded that I've reviewed before. It's sort of hard to describe the shade of this polish. In certain light it looks like a horrid, diseased mud green and other times the colour shift is so bright and vivid that I can't believe it's the same polish.

Formula and Application
The formula is alright, it applies well and dries insanely fast. I don't think I've seen another polish that dries as quick as this one. Now this polish is insanely sheer and you would need about 3-4 coats for full opacity, depending on your application. I've layered two thin coats over a black base for my swatches.

This polish dries to a very dull, almost matte finish. It's not a good look. I'd absolutely recommend a super glossy top coat to salvage this polish.

Longevity
Wear time is decent for this polish. It's not the best, but not bad either. I wore this for 4 days before I got bored and took it off. This is one of the better wearing formulas from Stay Quirky.

Final Thoughts
I was really disappointed by this polish. In some lights, it looks so vivid and gorgeous, but mostly it's not the best colour for my nails. Based on the image of this polish on the website, I thought it would be a dark, bottle green. It wasn't. But then I didn't know it would be a duo-chrome either. If you're looking for a duo-chrome on a budget and aren't too picky about the colours of this one, I'd say try it out. But don't expect something sensational. Overall, this particular shade is 'mehh' at best.
